Rudy Giuliani for President in 2008?

Seems like the Giuliani train has picked up steam as of late. As candidates and news coverage starts to pick up on the 06' midterm elections and the little farther out 08' elections.

Formally, the former Mayor of New York City has not decided or announced a run for President. But it only takes a small look at his recent travel stops to see that he is setting himself up perfectly to make a run for the GOP nomination. Giuliani has been going state to state to help GOP Congressmen and local elected officials raise money.

I recently had the honor of attending one of these events and meeting the Mayor face to face. At the luncheon "America's Mayor," as he was introduced, focused on two things; reducing the national debt with tax cuts and fiscal responsibility and staying on the offense on the war on terror.

As a conservative, these issues could not have been hit closer to home. I believe Mayor Rudy Giuliani is a true conservative with core conservative values. The national debt is going to become a huge problem in the near future and the man to take on this is Giuliani.

As Mayor, he brought New York City out of debt and into a surplus. He used this surplus for a tax cut that increased more revenue in taxes then if he had raised taxes. Not to mention, Giuliani is a leader in reducing crime and increasing security in New York and many other places in the U.S. That is exactly what his firm Giuliani Partners has been doing the past 6 years.

Here is a good article with more details on Giuliani and his possible path for '08.

If He Runs, Don't Bet Against Rudy - Richard Baehr, American Thinker

As a prior post linked to an article on the straw poll that showed Giuliani was more favorable then the other potential presidential candidates. His numbers in the poll were - average
63.5, with Republicans giving him a 73.5; Democrats 57.5 and independents 61.1.

Not only is America's Mayor the hottest candidate; as far as conservatives can tell he is the right candidate to restore conservative values and the right candidate for our nation.

I have also added a poll to the upper left column for anybody that wants to vote on their '08 Presidential favorite.

Please keep coming back and checking up as I will continue to update regularly.
